Examples of how students bring Social Studies to life:
6th Grade: by studying development of the alphabet from Egyptian hieroglyphs through Canaanite alphabets to modern Arabic, Hebrew, Greek, and Roman alphabets, by developing their own hieroglyphics, and by learning the advantages of an alphabet of pure symbols that includes both vowels and consonants.
7th Grade: by using the skills of detectives to analyze the Burr-Hamilton duel of 1804 including assessing physical evidence, testimony, and credibility.
8th Grade: by studying the effects of economics and economic theories on recent history, including the analysis of suppy and demand curves and shifts, equilibrium points, and the banking system and money supply.
